It is cheap, safe and...cheap compared to Fedex and such.

It may be handy to us, but when you already have a package sent to you, you worry about the fees it'll cost you just by retrieving your packages. It's not a first-hand experience, YET; but a lot of customers complained about the Custom Fees, Courier Fees, and such, and shouldn't that have been handled by the sender already. I haven't had such bad luck with packages yet, and hopefully I would be able to take back what I said here... I'll keep you posted on my feedback on the PhilPost Service I experience.
@anonymous better not declare the "value" to avoid fees, you can say used xbox instead of new. it may sound cheating but well...please let me know how it goes!
i am trying to contact those phone number's.. and there is no one trying to pick up the phone to answer it. is it a legal company? seems like they are having a poor customer service.
wow very helpful thanks! in any country, UNDER declare (but still at a realistic cost range!) any value of your items coz shipment and actual cost of product will be the basis for duties and taxes. just my 2 cents based on experience :) and when sending items TO the Philippines, don't bother with boxing them, use packets if your items will fit it. Customs officer go frenzy over boxes. Boxes equal more duties and taxes! :D

hindi ko maintindihan ang tamang rate ng philpost ems pabago-pago! monthly po akong nagpapadala ng 2 boxes ng medecine ko dito sa japan. lagi namang 465 grms yun eh pero paiba-iba ang rate nila. tapos yong philpost ems staff nila lagi pang nanghihingi ng tip. pagwala kang maibigay sa sususnod magpadala ka halos d kana i-entertain.sana po baguhin nyo na systema ninyo lalo na yong philpost jan sa DASMARINAS CAVITE ang garapal manghingi ng tip.
hi there is a revised rate system now for EMS Parcel effective Jan 2011.. but too bad until now di pa nag uupdate ang website ng Philpost..how can I get the new Philpost EMS chart? where will i download?
Very bad in fact. I sent an ems from america and i have no new about it. No e-mail for custom or nything. It has been more that the days they say they will deliver. First and last time i use it.

i just sent out a small box to california it's 300g and it cost me P1042. sabi dito sa rates P942 i wonder what's P100's for or maybe it's the new rate. I have read all the comments above and I realized that I shouldn't avail the Philpost EMS services anymore. It might just upset me because I'm planning to send a small package to my friend in South Korea. I might as well send it thru Fedex or LBC. I don't mind if it's a bit expensive. What's important is that my package is safe and guaranteed to arrive on time.

So far i've been ordering stuff from HK and have just been under-declaring it to throw off the customs, i have been receiving my packages promptly, sure beats sending it through regular mail wherein it takes practically three to four months to arrive then they charge you so much for customs and duties, it would have been better to have had it sent by FEDEX or UPS and you wouldnt have to wait 3-4 months for it to arrive. In fact, because it took that long, i thought it was stolen, i almost requested for a refund from the seller in the US.
Oh well, the postal system here in the Philippines sucks so much, it's really worth paying an extra premium to have your items shipped by another courier service.

I sent a box to UK via Philpost..it arrived safely in less than 2 weeks..although I would advice people here to NOT use Philpost when sending packages from overseas..They do VERY POORLY. If you are located overseas and would want to send boxes/packages to the Philippines, just use LBC/DHL/Fedex or any other courier services. Most Philpost employees are somehow attracted to the balikbayan boxes/parcels and would want to nick them..just my opinion ;)

HIndi ma claim yun if hindi kayo makakreceive ng note card from them...I went to they're office sa Pasay and sobrang dame ng tao, from 11 pm to 5 pm ako nakpila dun. Last time a package was sent to me, I received it in less than 2 months when I expected it to arrive within 7-12 days. :( now I'm waiting for another package and it's been 2 weeks now :(
For the past 2 years na nagse-send and nakaka-receive ako ng package to and from Scotland, out of approx. 20 packages from my friend, 1 pa lang yung hindi nakarating sakin, heh. And everything I sent out, she received. Usual turn around time ng package namin is 1-2 weeks lang, so I'm pretty satisfied with Philpost's service. They should fix the tracking page though, seriously. :/
Another unsatisfied customer here....nareceive namin ung first box, already opened and half empty, puro brand new clothing ang laman. that is not the worst part, yung second box did not arrive at contact numbers are totally useless, and base sa mga nabasa ko dito sa mga comments, its probably in the hands of thieves!

Ang hirap pala talaga magpadala ng package thru EMS philpost galing ibang bansa. napadala ako last dec 9 fr UAE tapos dumating sa manila last dec 13 tapos sabi na out for dispatched nong 14 pero hindi nakarating sa province namin. ang sabi ng pasay pa check sa post ofc sa province namin. ilang beses na pabalik balik yong receiver kaso wala pa dun until today nalaman na nasa manila pa daw hindi ata nakasakay sa cebu pacific. anong klaseng service sila na halos isang linggo yong delayed ng shipment fr mla to iloilo. hindi pa gumagana yong mga contact #s nila. Pati yong local post ofc sa iloilo hindi marunong tumingin sa status sa online nila kung asan na yong parcel. nakalagay naman pala na cancel yong delivery at advised the recipient for pick up e wala namang tumawag. paano cancel yong delivery e hindi pa nga nakasakay sa eroplano siguro at ang ang nakalagay sa system dispatched by DENNIS PASSION(paano ba kita ma contact pati ofc nyo d alam...ano ba yan??? asan na ngayon yong package ko na may gamot pa man yon??? pagtumawag ka i hold kaba naman ng >5mins at naririnig mo lang sa kabilang line na nagkukwentuhan sila. how bad is the service of philpost...sana naman mag improve po kayo kasi pinapasuweldo kayo ng taong bayan for supposedly good service...sana naman dumating na yong pinadala ko ang laki ng gastos ko kakatawag ng int'l...hindi na ako uulit...
I posted 2 packages for my family for xmas one they did receive but the other not, the other package has remianed in manila for 2 weeks. I'd really like to know how that happens how can a parcel remain in manila and not forwarded within 2 weeks. Seemingly post in the philippine's is carried via domestic flights, if there is no room on flight u can wait forever for ur package. Philpost is completely amature and disgusting, get ur own plane and stop thieving tax payers money i know u can afford it. Secondly charging tax for xmas gift is rediculous and awful when the price to send from the uk to philippines is already high and taxes are paid already, if i pay 20000 for xmas gift and spend 7000 on postage then get charged by philpost for collection, i think its beyond laughable when they provide no service anyway, if the package is transported to philippines by ur carrier via airports and domestic flights then not even delivered or attempted to be delivered by the postman what the f+&k are the post service doing in the philippines?

As of now, it's been 28 days since I order parts of my car in malaysia, I ordered last dec. 28, 2012, and the seller said that my items will come after 14 days, and yes, it's more than 14 days and I'm still waiting for my items, I always update my local philpost branch and they said that the CMEC is not releasing my items since January 2! They're all Bulls***! 0/10 service quality!
I just want to share a sad story regarding a parcel (CW446700455US) which I sent last December 2012. I am a Filipino currently working here in North Carolina, USA and I sent a flat-rate parcel to my nephew in Cebu City. The parcel left the US December 14, 2012 and was received by PhilPost International Sorting Facilities on Dec 18, 2012. It was after that when I had problem tracking the parcel. I e-mailed all PhilPost available addresses which was posted in this site only to get no clear response as to where the parcel is. I was finally able to get a word from my nephew who has been following up the item and he said that on January 4, 2013 the parcel is already on its way to Cebu City. With three weeks having passed and not yet receiving any notice about the parcel, he just decided to go to the nearest Postal office in Cebu City on 27Jan2013 only to find out that the parcel was there. His happiness to finally able to get the parcel was dampened when he opened the box only to find out that it has been opened and some items taken by "robbers" of PhilPost. The bill of lading has been crossed out to remove some item as well. Is this the kind of service that PhilPost delivers? Is this what we your kababayans here abroad deserve? To become helpless victim of crooks and undercover robbers in PhilPost? I hate to say this but I am beginning to lose hope in the Philippines that I once consider my "Lupang Hinirang".
Same problem here, my Mom sent Christmas presents to me and my kids and they never arrived. I emailed every address at the and never got a reply. Called the phone numbers with no answer. If a package disappears in the Philpost system, they offer absolutely no assistance. If a government can't handle the simple task of getting a package from point A to point B, how are the citizens supposed to believe they are competent or reliable enough to handle the much more complex roles of a government?
